SPRING INTO SAFETY

Yard Work Doesn’t Have To Be A Pain

Baltimore, MD – Spring is here. It’s warmer outside and you have big plans for the yard. You may be anxious to get started but take your time. All of that lawn and garden work can mean trouble if you try to do too much, too fast and don’t take a few precautions. .

Spring is prime time for the aches and pains that can come along with yard work. You can survive and still have a great looking lawn if you take a few precautions:

Take your time. Split your big project into smaller ones and don’t expect to get it all done in one weekend.
Stretch before you begin. Your back and muscles will love you for it.
Lift heavy objects properly. Keep them close to your body, bend your knees, keep your back straight and let your leg muscles do the lifting. Get help if something is too heavy to lift alone.
Use well made, long handled tools to make yard work easier and ease the strain on your body.
Take frequent breaks and stay hydrated.
